Comments from the 2010 Light Parade
The parade was fantastic! The docks were the best ever. I've
participated in most of the parades over the years - including
the first parade back in 1993. There were only five boats that
first year. I missed a few parades after my husband passed
away, but it's great to be back! Thanks for taking on the
parade and making it a great success.
WOW---WOW !!!!!!
What an INCREDIBLE Parade you guys organized---We have lived
here since 2000 and it was certainly one of the best, if not THE
BEST, we have ever witnessed. I wished those of you that were
on boats could have seen it from a dock ( I am sure it looked as
impressive from the water as well). On the Dock, you could feel
a level of excitement and ENERGY up and down the Waterway.
THE
PARADE WAS THE BEST EVER !! OUR GUESTS WERE
OVERWHELMED !! AND ESPECIALLY, ACCOLADES TO THOSE IN
CHARGE !! SOME OF OUR GUEST SAID "THE PALM VALLEY BOAT
PARADE" IS THE HIGHLIGHT AND BEGINNING OF THEIR HOLIDAYS
!! MANY THANKS TO THOSE WHO WERE IN CHARGE !!
Kelli the docks were beautiful last and more than ever thank
you. What a great committee -Tracy
Thanks for all the hard work. The parade was so much fun; we
were all horse from cheering and singing. Our guests aboard are
now confirmed yearly participants. There were also more lighted
docks than ever.
Ladies: Each of you and your team of helpers did a fantastic job
in staging the Palm Valley Lighted Boat Parade. I appreciated
being a part of the parade and the residents along the route and
the decorated docks were fantastic. They were very appreciative
of everything with the event

On November 20th, we held our First Annual Fish Fry Fundraiser
for the Palm Valley Boat Parade at Britt Farms. It was an
afternoon and evening of fun for all. A Bouncy House and Slide
were there for the kids, four local bands took turns playing
through the evening and as soon as it was dark enough, movies
were played on the inflatable movie screen. There was popcorn,
cotton candy, face painting, a cake walk and, of course, enough
locally caught fish and side dishes to feed over 450 people.
The best thing about the fish fry was that it really brought our
community together. Many people exclaimed that it was the first
time in many, many years that Palm Valley's had an event for the
community. We were able to see many old friends and meet a lot
of new friends.
The evening was also a success financially! We sold 450 tickets
and contributions continued to flow. Contributions are very
important to secure the cash prizes for the boat parade and to
pay expenses. We have surpassed our goal for the prizes for
this year but still need contributions to pay expenses and to
secure prize money for next year's parade. It is our goal to
establish a boat parade that we can count on to be spectacular
every year from now on. We couldn't do this without our
community! Thank you to all!

"Just wanted to take the time to tell you what a awesome event
you and your committee put together, and in such short time.
Never has the Valley had such a great neighborhood party. It
was just so good to see everyone, and having such a good time.
You were able to do what we could not do for the past ten years,
congrats, and well done."
"WOW!! What a great event Kelli! Thanks for everything."
"The boat parade fundraiser was really great! Thanks so much
for putting together such a great event. Your family and all
the volunteers rock! Again --thanks for all you’re doing."
"Also, thanks for a great fish fry. Food, music and fellowship -
all most excellent!" |
